Last Hurrah Tour: Seattle to Nashville

Long time no spock.  Been busy, moved, remodeling, grand-parenting, surfing, reading a book or two.

Then, four weeks ago, we were presented with a last minute opportunity.  The used RV dealer in Seattle tasked with selling the Lil Coconut RV fell asleep at the wheel.  The vehicle wasn't even listed for the last month.  All kinds of excuses.  Forget it, I've had it dealing with these type of so called “professionals”.  We flew up, picked up the RV and headed out on another roll, one last zig zag across America.  The Last Hurrah Tour: Seattle to Nashville.

We had just one week for planning.  We needed to change our flights, determine our route, call up travel buddy Patrick, prebook campsites for the summer roll.  Did I mention that we never have rolled in the summer before?  At this late in the season, there's not really much available.  Plus, we also had to deal with Memorial Day.   Prior to this, we had planned to fly into Nashville in mid June to see our daughter and our grandson son.  Everything changed in a matter of days.  I guess we are up for a new adventure.

So, I scrambled, I got the new flights, determined the route and camp ground bookings.   Patrick was more than eager to join us as we set our sights on our first time northern US roll, I 90 and beyond.  Of course, we would have to visit our last major national park on the list, Glacier National Park.

With stops in Spokane, Idaho, Glacier, Billings, Wyoming, Custer in the Back Hills, and then a ride through the farm belt of South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and then landing in Tennesse, we set a course and just took off, with an underlying goal of fixing the ills of the once dormant and ignored RV, getting it ready for sale.  This was the Last Hurrah, the last jaunt zig zagging across America.  We're taking the Lil Coconut to Nashville where Christy will help me sell it.

Then well be finally done with RVing.  Airplanes are faster, car tours and hotels more convenient.   If you've been tagging along with us for the past 6-7 years you know we've pretty much seen most of America and it's time to move on.  Traveling abroad and bikings tour seem to be next on the list.  We also what to spend more time in our favorite destination, Laie, Hawaii.

So, here's another episode of our photo and blog journal to help us remember our travels. Your welcome to tag along again, just click the links above.   E komo mail, welcome.
