Lake Quinault Drive, Olympia National Park, WA: We left Lake Quinault after three days of dark skies, cold and raining weather. It followed us north up to Kalaloch a beach campground on the western coast of the Olympic National Park peninsula. We were quite happy to be out of the rain forest. Three days was enough for us sun worshipers from the islands. We learned the difference between a tropical rain forest and a regular rain forest, cold.
In Kalaloch, for some reason pronounced “clay-loch", we decided to explore the campground despite the thick overcast skies. The campground over looked the ocean and the wave's roar reminded us of our home in Laie. We walked down the rock trail to the beach listening to the fogged in breakers pounding the shore. We walked on yet another long sandy shore to see if we could capture any worthy images. It was tough. The socked in mist limited our view.
