Cascade Falls Hike, Lake Quinault, Olympic National Park, WA:  We left the shoreline trail and walked past the lodge to the Cascades Falls trailhead.  This was a half mile hike and combined with the 1 mile shoreline hike gave us a 3 mile hike for the morning.  Barbara did good once I convinced her that you were suppose to walk in the rain in a rain forest.  Everybody did.  I said jeans are no no and they would act as a sponge and she would freeze.  She put on my second pair of water proof hiking slacks and I let her wear my cowboy to keep the rain off her pretty little head.  We do need to find her a proper rain jacket with a hood.
